A Journey Through Jewish Roots | Connecting with Modern Society

This workshop covers the many stages ('aliyot') of Israel's history and the music that accompanied them. It's a lively, interactive session where everyone joins in to sing and dance together. Participants will feel like they're on a journey through time, experiencing the deep emotions that connect every Jew, whether they're in Israel or living abroad. This workshop is one of our most popular programs and has been presented worldwide in schools and community centres.
'The Last 70 Years' | A Complete Israeli Musical Journey
(60-90 Minutes)
In this workshop, we take you through each decade of the past 70 years since Israel's founding. You'll enjoy some of Israel’s greatest hits that have shaped its culture, people, and society. The session is fun and engaging, with constant audience participation, all led by our skilled educational team at The Shuk.
What is Israeli Music?
(60 Minutes)
During this workshop, we perform various musical genres live, inviting the audience to share what makes each song feel 'Israeli.' This is a chance for everyone to explore their personal connection to Jewish identity and understand the diverse influences within Israeli music. We celebrate styles from Eastern, Mizrachi, Eastern European, and both South and North American Jewry.
Israel's Got Talent | International Showcase
(Multi-Day Project: Usually 1-2 Days of Pre-Production)
Before the event, we connect with community or school members who want to showcase their musical talents. This workshop includes a pre-event meeting and personal rehearsals with each participant. In just a short time, we created a community-wide event where local talents get the incredible opportunity to perform alongside professional Israeli musicians.

We design these workshops in collaboration with The Shuk and your community or school's educational team. This ensures we meet specific educational goals based on your seasonal or annual themes.
Master Class with The Shuk
(60 Minutes)
These private and group classes allow local musicians of all ages to learn Middle Eastern music techniques from The Shuk's talented musicians. Classes are available for various instruments, including percussion, the Middle Eastern oud, darbuka (doumbek), bass guitar, electric guitar, piano, and keyboard.
** We also offer community-wide live concerts, Kabbalat Shabbat, and Havdalah services during each visit.
